In TallyPrime, a Stock Group is used to organize stock items under categories, like “Electronics,” “Clothing,” “Mobile Accessories,” etc. But sometimes, you may create a wrong stock group or no longer need it. In that case, you can delete the stock group easily.
⚠️ Important Before Deleting
- A stock group can only be deleted if there are no stock items under it.
- You must first move or delete the stock items from the group.
- Deletion is permanent, so be careful.
From Gateway of Tally, press: Alt
Select Stock Groups
Select the Stock Group to Delete
Find the stock group you want to delete. Example: You want to delete Tablets group. Select it and press Enter to open.
Once the group is open: Press Alt + D
Tally will ask:
“Are you sure you want to delete this master?” Press Y to confirm.
Done! The stock group will be deleted.
“Are you sure you want to delete this master?” Press Y to confirm.
Done! The stock group will be deleted.
